Party Poker makes Huge Changes in Software Update
Over the past few months, Party Poker has been working hard to transition themselves to a site that all players can enjoy - not just pros. A major part of this effort includes overhauling the software, and Party just recently completed the phase of this update.
Now both Mac and PC players can expect a fresh new look and interface, the ability to play on both Android and iOS apps, social gaming features, a 1-Click Lobby and more. Party Poker has definitely changed for the better, and it's worth discussing some of these changes in detail.
1-Click Lobby
Unique to Party Poker, the 1-Click Lobby enables players to find their favorite cash games and tournaments faster than ever. Players can put their preferred ring games and tourneys on the Favorites list, then navigate to what they want in just a single click (hence the name). The improved lobby filters are also nice for those times when you're trying to quickly narrow down the number of available poker games.
Friends and Profile Page
Social media isn't just for Facebook and Twitter anymore. With Party Poker's new social gaming features, players can quickly search friends by screen name, email address or look up contacts from their email address book. Once you've found some people you enjoy playing with/against, you can add them to your friends list. In addition to this, Party also offers automatic suggestions based on a number of different factors to help people find "best class" opponents for them to compete against.
Every player will now have their own profile page where they can display achievements. And if you don't want everybody seeing this page, you can use privacy settings to limit viewing access to just your friends. When privacy settings are off, profiles are available everywhere, including the tables. So you can check out a player's profile at the table and drop them a message if you want. Assuming you feel like leaving your own message to the Party Poker world, you can write it on your profile wall, just like Facebook.
Achievements
Expanding on the achievements we just discussed above, players can earn a wide range of accolades on the Party Poker tables. There are now 127 different achievements, such as being dealt your first cash game hand, or meeting a set number of cash game hands. The achievements fall into three main categories, which you can see below:
Milestones - This begins with "Poker Career 1" as soon as you're dealt your first poker hand.
Collectible - These achievements come from collecting things during your playing days. For example, if you're dealt pocket kings, you'll get the "Cowboys" collectible.
Highlights - These achievements are reserved for your biggest wins, losses and bad beats.
Account/Rewards/Cashier
Finally, Party Poker's latest software update also includes making the account, rewards and cashier sections easier to access. Party now uses a "metro tiling" style for the account and rewards pages, which makes finding the following quicker than ever:
