Famed poker pro Vitaly Lunkin won the 2013 EPT Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller along with €771,300. He defeated a 51-player field to capture the first major title of the European Poker Tour Season 10.

Lunkin came onto the final table trailing chip leader Ole Schemion. They were joined by David Benefield, Fabian Quoss, Timothy Adams, Steve O'Dwyer, Mike McDonald and Erik Seidel. All eight final table players were hoping to survive the first elimination because only seven grinders got paid.

Unfortunately for Adams, he would be the odd man out as Seidel busted him in eighth place. A short-stacked Adams shoved with Ks-9s, while Seidel called with Qh-Qc. Adams paired his king and took the lead, but Seidel rivered a fourth club to win the hand with a flush.

Once the money bubble burst, the eliminations started coming more quickly. Eventually, Lunkin and Seidel met heads-up, with the latter holding a slight chip lead. This made their matchup last quite a while as both grinders battled back and forth. However, Lunkin finally took a big lead after doubling up with pocket kings.

With 10 big blinds left, Seidel shoved with Kd-Qc, prompting Lunkin to call with Ac-5h. The latter furthered his lead when the flop came out 6s-As-6c. The turn and river were a meaningless 8c and 4s, which sealed the victory for Lunkin.

Thanks to his latest win, the Russian now has $5,465,180 in live poker tournament winnings. Besides this prestigious EPT title, Lunkin also has a couple of WSOP gold bracelets to his credit. The Moscow native won a 2008 WSOP $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament ($629,415) and a 2009 WSOP $40,000 NL Hold'em event ($1,891,031).

Based on all of his success and $5.5 million in winnings, Lunkin is now firmly entrenched at number three on Russia's all-time poker earnings list. He trails only Ivan Demidov ($6.8 million) and Igor Kurganov ($5.6 million).
