Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has always been one of the world's most exciting online poker players. After all, he's never been afraid to take on difficult opponents or try new games. Unfortunately, this hasn't always been a recipe for success because Blom was sitting at around $3 million in losses at Full Tilt in November, 2011.
But since the start of 2013, the Swede has been on a sick run that's seen him earn a ridiculous amount of money. Let's discuss his impressive streak and talk about how much money Isildur1 has made lately.
A New Record
Viktor Blom was already starting to turn the corner in December as he cut his career Full Tilt losses from $3 million to $2 million. But what he did in the first week of January, 2013 was just insane. Isildur1 collected $2.71 million from January 1st - 7th, which is believed to be a record week in online poker history.
Easily the Best
When Full Tilt Poker reopened on November 6th, 2012, Viktor Blom had lost $2.6 million. Fast forward to today, and he's now up over $680k in career FTP winnings. This means that Blom has earned $3.3 million in profits at the newly-launched Full Tilt. Nobody is even close to this amount since FTP has been relaunched by PokerStars.
Fast Learner
Perhaps the most amazing thing about Isildur1's run - besides the winnings - is how most of his profits have come from 2-7 Triple Draw and FL Omaha 8's or Better. Blom only started playing these games six months ago and went through some rough times during his learning period. However, he's proved to be a quick learner and is currently dominating specialists from these games.
Seeing as how Blom's hot streak doesn't show any signs of letting up, it'll be interesting to see how much money he can win. Has he truly conquered 2-7 Triple Draw and FLO8 games? The coming months may answer this question.
