As many people know, Macau is the world's premier casino destination. This being said, it's not surprising that the special administrative area of China is home to some of the world's biggest casinos. Of course, Macau isn't the only major gaming hub in the world since there are some rather large casinos in other parts of the world too. So in the spirit of fun, let's take a look at the largest casinos on the planet.
1. Venetian Macau
The Venetian Macau opened to much acclaim in 2007 since it was instantly the biggest casino in the world. For starters, the casino floor spans 546,000 square feet and there are nearly 900 gaming tables featured here. The inside is so large that the Venetian houses water-filled channels, four pools and three huge shopping areas.
2. City of Dreams
Macau is also home to the world's second largest casino in the City of Dreams, which covers 420,000 square feet. The James Packer-owned venue holds 520 tables and almost 1,400 electronic games like video poker and online slots.
3. Foxwoods Casino
While most people would think that America's largest casino is in Las Vegas, it's actually in Ledyard, Connecticut. That's because this is where you'll find Foxwoods Casino Resort and the world's largest collection of electronic casino games. To be exact, there are over 7,000 electronic games here along with a 4,000-seat bingo room.
4. Tusk Rio Casino
Tusk Rio Casino can't compete with any of the aforementioned venues in terms of table games or slots machines, but they do have a rather large 266,000-square-foot casino floor. Other points worth making about this Klerksdorp, South Africa establishment is that they have both a big poker room and VIP gaming area.
5. Sands Macau
Going back to the city where this list started, the Sands Macau features a 229,000-square-foot gaming floor. Sands also includes Earth's biggest collection of table games with 1,000, in addition to 750 electronic casino games. Assuming you've ever got the cash to spend, the Sands Macau or any of the five casinos on this list are definitely worth seeing due to their sheer size alone!
