While baccarat has always been a popular casino game, it seems to be increasing in popularity over the past few years - especially in Macau! With this being said, it's definitely worth going over the main baccarat bets and which ones will make you the most money.

Banker Bet

One of the biggest reasons why baccarat is such a popular game is because of the banker bet. As the name implies, those who make this wager are betting on the banker's hand to win, and it carries a low 1.06% house edge. Assuming you were able to find single deck baccarat, betting on the banker hand to win offers an even lower 1.01% house edge. In any case, the banker bet is extremely nice because it gives new players an easy way to use perfect baccarat strategy.

Player Bet

With the player wager, you're betting on the player hand to beat the banker's hand. If you make this bet, you're still dealing with a low 1.24% house edge. Sure this is a little higher than what you are getting with the banker bet, but it's relatively low in comparison to other casino games. So if you're feeling like the player hand could be hot, you don't lose much by making this wager.

Tie Bet

Not too many people make the tie bet because it's one of the worst wagers in all of gambling. By betting on the player and banker hands to tie, you're giving up a 14.44% edge (six deck baccarat) to the casino. Even with this being said, there are still people willing to make the tie bet because it offers an 8-to-1 payout. But this should in no way influence you to place this wager.

As we discussed before, the optimal baccarat strategy is to make the banker bet on every hand. Along with this, you also need to exercise good bankroll management by playing stakes you can afford.
